READ, FOLLOW, LIKE, SHARE WHERE LOVE IS ILLEGAL
Because bigotry thrives where fear causes us to be silent, we’ve created a social media space where people can share LGBTQI+ stories of discrimination and survival. Please follow Where Love Is Illegal on our social media platforms and show support for those brave enough to share their stories by ‘liking’ their posts.

SEND A BOOK TO AN INFLUENTIAL PERSON
We are using the book ‘CONDEMNED’ to raise awareness and target influential people, to have them take notice and request that they take action. You can help by sending a copy of the book.
DONATE AND SHINE A LIGHT ON HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES

MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
Donations from people like you have amplified the voices of the LGBTQI+ community in Jamaica and shone a light on the conditions for people living with mental health issues in sub-Saharan Africa. What stories will your donation help Witness Change to share with the world? If you would like to talk to us before making a donation, please contact us.
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT:

TELL STORIES OF WHERE LOVE IS ILLEGAL
Where Love Is Illegal has been a great success on social media and in traditional media around the world. The stories documented by Witness Change only cover a fraction of the places and kinds of persecution LGBTQI+ people face. Witness Change is raising money to continue the storytelling. If you would like to support the production of the second phase of this project, please donate or contact us.

MAKE MENTAL HEALTH A GLOBAL PRIORITY
Witness Change has made great progress to raise the profile of mental health in African countries in crisis, but this is not an African issue alone – those living with mental health problems are marginalised and maltreated globally. Witness Change plans to expand its work to more countries, including ‘Global North’ nations, to highlight the neglect of people living with mental health problems around the world.

FUND AN EMPOWERING STORYTELLING WORKSHOP
We believe LGBTQI+ stories should come from the community and not just be about them. In order to achieve this, Witness Change is seeking funds to run workshops in countries where LGBTQI+ discrimination exists. Our goal is to train community members in storytelling. This way, participants can run relevant and effective action that endeavours to use storytelling to effect change locally.

KEEP US RUNNING
Witness Change runs on a tiny operating budget and a tonne of goodwill. We want to keep working with partners to make change happen. To do this, we need your support to invest in marketing, outreach and campaigning. We want our social media campaigns to stand out, our exhibitions to target the world’s decision makers and we want to be able to work with local civil society organisations and academics who can bring about change in different countries. Even the smallest donation towards unrestricted funding will help us achieve that.
